When Tufts University researchers studied the waistlines and diets of 459 people, they found that even in men of similar age and activity level, those who ate white bread frequently weighed more than those who didn’t. “The calories from white bread and refined grains just seem to settle at the waistline more than calories from other foods,” says Katherine Tucker, Ph.D., the study author.

The diet itself can trick you into thinking that this eating style is working — when really, you might gain back what you lost as soon as you eat carbs again. Clean the spinach and blanch it in boiling water for 3 minutes and then put it in a bowl full of ice-cold water for 5 minutes. Drain the leaves and keep aside. Allergic to bananas- Some people reach day 4 without much ado, but as soon as they reach day 4 of the diet plan, they find it difficult to eat just banana and milk. Bananas are very nutritious. They are full of fiber, potassium, and sodium, but if you want to skip bananas you can also have papayas. Apricots, figs, nectarines and dates can be a feeble substitute for bananas, but remember what we said about dry fruits, so stick to just eight a day.

Another thing that works for the diet is that you do not have to limit the amount of food you eat, just the kind of foods you eat. That works fine for most of us, as we do not have to feel deprived. It is only when we feel deprived that we go on a binging spree. Also, having frequent small meals and increasing water intake boosts metabolism and aids in fat loss.
Use the meal as a reward for a week’s worth of hard work, or the completion of a project you’ve been dreading. “It’s OK for people to blow one meal a week without feeling guilty,” says James W. Anderson, M.D., director of the Metabolic Research Group at the University of Kentucky in Lexington. “If you follow a healthy diet 95% of the time, you can relax and enjoy yourself the other 5% of the time without gaining weight.”
a. Count your calories: You could use a calorie counting app to know exactly what is in the food you're eating while you're trying to plan how to lose weight. This way, you can keep an exact track of the calories and nutrients you're consuming. b. Reduce the number of your meals: Make it a habit to eat dinner early and avoid eating anything post dinner to help in digestion of your food. c. Cut down on condiments: Certain sauces and condiments are dense in calories. Avoid including those in your routine diet. d. Load up on veggies: Limit starchy carbs and added fats in your plate but load up on fresh and healthy veggies instead. e. Opt for lean proteins: Even while consuming protein dense foods, choose proteins that are lower in fat such as chicken and fish. f. Don't drink calories: Avoid sugary drinks, aerated drinks and sodas during the diet. Instead opt for water and zero-calorie drinks. Protein shakes are good too, but count them as a meal since they are quite filling.
Some men can lose up to 5 lbs. per week, says Juge, if they follow the diet strictly. He recommends striving for a weekly 2- to 3-lb. loss for more lasting effects. "That way it's not such a drastic change and you'll be less likely to put all the weight back on when the diet's done," he adds. Weigh yourself naked just once per week, at the same time, preferably on the same scale. That way it'll be as accurate as possible.
Still, it’s a worthy goal to lose belly fat because it’s “unfortunately the most dangerous location to store fat,” says Lawrence Cheskin, MD, chair of the department of nutrition and food studies at George Mason University and director of the Johns Hopkins Weight Management Center.
