After clearing the tear ducts I am finally sitting down to share my successes. They come in many forms weight loss, inches lost, pain lost, and shedding emotional sadness carried for many years. I have given birth to 2 amazing kids and always stayed fit during pregnancies and post pregnancies, but my body seemed to work against me. I was spinning my wheels with workouts eating clean and getting no results which equaled a defeating dull pain and being embarrassed of who I was in my own skin. After 6 weeks of the FASTerWayToFatLoss I can honestly say I have been transformed. My mental and emotional transformation are the highiest on my list as these will continue to push me on this journey. It is a journey to be the best version of myself and provide a modeling platform for my children. One of my biggest joys is hearing my almost 2 year old asks me gym or run? When I put on my sneakers. In addition the 9lbs I have lost and most importantly 13.25 inches shed are not a bad prize. Thank you for this program that allows me to see results, live a healthy lifestyle, and even have some treats when I deserve them. I can't wait for the next chapter!
On May 22, 2017, I started the FWTFL with a little skepticism but a whole lot of determination. You see, I had tried so many different workout programs that left me discouraged. I wanted to try this program and honestly, this was my last attempt before giving up. I couldn't justify spending money on one more program, but my husband surprised me and bought if for my Mother's Day gift. I am 44 years old. I had all three of my babies after age 35 and then in 2014 was diagnosed with a rare tumor in my low back and it had grown into my hip. After surgery, I struggled with chronic pain. Within 3 months, the tumor was back and growing quickly. I had treatment which again, left me with pain and nerve damage. I honestly didn't think I would be able to workout successfully again. With a pocket full of courage and an enormous amount of faith in Amanda Tress, someone I didn't personally know, I set out on an adventure to regain my strength and health. Little did I know my life would be changed forever. The combination of healthy, whole foods, strategically scheduled workouts and tons of community support has proved to be the perfect remedy for my aching body. The chronic pain in my back and hips started to dissipate. By week 3, I couldn't believe what my body was able to do. I never thought I would do squats and lunges again but the progressive workouts allowed my body to strengthen as it healed. Yes, I can tell a physical difference in my body but as a woman that doesn't take my health for granted, the increased strength and decrease in pain has been my biggest success. I would have never believed that in 6 short weeks, I could run sprints, do walking lunges, squats with heavy weights and push up's on my toes. I will be forever grateful for the knowledge Amanda has shared with me. My life has forever been changed. Thank you is not adequate....I'm stronger, faster and healthier!
You will feel hungry sometimes, but you can eat more fat if you do. The first three days, you may need L-glutamine. If your body is really toxic, you may feel headaches or like you got the flu. It passes in a couple days. If you need painkillers, go for aspirin, NEVER Tylenol. Tylenol will hurt your liver and make it hard to detox because it depletes glutathione.
Fat metabolism is the most efficient way to produce energy, allowing you to go and go and go without burning through a ton of calories. But efficiency is the enemy of fat loss. To lose body fat, you want to churn through calories—calories from carbs, calories from fat, calories from anything—and you get there through carb metabolism. “The more energy-demanding the work, the more likely you are to lose body fat,” Zimmerman explains.
Parsley has many, many health benefits, including reducing effects of diarrhoea, improving digestion, regulating the menstrual cycle and increasing the rate of urination, which means that more matter is expelled from the body, including more calories and thus reducing weight loss. The diuretic aspect of parsley juice also means that it detoxifies the body faster than other drinks, and acts as an appetite suppressant making you feel fuller than you are.
The Grey Box of Clarification: While my earlier comment about ‘sucking it up’ was slightly facetious, there is a lot of truth to it. Hunger is an inevitable part of dieting and the more you can become comfortable with it, the more successful you’re going to be with your fat loss. Also, read this. 5. Reduce your stress levels: Working out and eating right can help keep cortisol from running rampant in your body, but if you spend your 9-to-5 stressed to the max, levels of this hormone are going to shoot through the roof regardless. Study after study shows one of the healthiest things you can do for your waistline (as well as your happiness and life span) is to minimize the amount of stress you encounter every day. Incorporate zen activities like yoga, meditation, and breathing exercises into your day to help teach you to control spikes of stress when they come up.
The good news is, running may help you fall asleep easier and more deeply. Numerous studies have found that daily aerobic exercise—specifically the moderate to intense type, like cardio, strength training, and yoga—improves our sleep quality, which helps us avoid the consequences of sleep deprivation such as increased risk of cardiovascular disease and metabolism issues. If you run in the evening, make sure to leave enough time before bed to let your body temperature and heart rate lower, so you don’t feel too revved up to fall asleep.

EFAs stand for Essential Fatty Acids. Just as the name implies EFAs are essential to the human body because play a role in many different biological processes. Essential fatty acids differ from others fats in that they cannot be synthesized within the human body. This means that EFAs must be consumed through the diet. If not enough EFAs are consumed the body will sense that it does not have the nutrients that it needs to function properly. As a result it will essentially “hold on to” body fat. This is just one of the reasons EFAs are so important though.
Fat acids are a substrate for cholesterol, meaning that fatty acids must be available to create cholesterol. This is important because cholesterol is eventually converted to testosterone. If fat intake is too low there will not be enough fatty acids available for optimal testosterone productions. This will lead to an even lower level of testosterone.
While maintaining good habits during the day—eating well, exercising regularly—are crucial for weight loss, resting at night is just as important for keeping off the pounds. In a study published by Plos One journal last year, researchers found that people who skimped on sleep were more likely to have higher body mass indexes and larger waist circumferences than those who got adequate shut-eye.
Some studies have shown that a protein shake consumed immediately after training can produce up to 25 times higher levels of protein synthesis when compared to a protein shake that is consumed 3 hours post workout. This shows how important it is to get this shake in right away. Since timing is so important in the post workout state it is important to choose a protein that is quickly digested.
Then May comes around and Amanda and Brandon introduce the FWTFL Men’s Group. Yeah! I talked to my husband and he immediately agreed to sign up. My husband is a fireman and had just finished two months of non-stop studying for a promotional exam. He didn’t gain weight during that time period, but he lost muscle tone. I knew this program would be perfect for him to get back into shape. It has been so much fun to have my partner and best friend workout with me.
• If you’re in a caloric deficit: you’ll be better off choosing foods that are low in energy density and high in nutrient density. These foods will help keep you full when calories are low. Energy-dense foods like cereal, chocolate bars, ice cream, Pop-Tarts, etc. are less filling and thus less satiating. This is why you can eat a chocolate bar and be hungry again ten minutes later, while a [calorically] comparable meal filled with protein and veggies will keep you fuller for longer.
There’s a reason people are obsessed with apple cider vinegar for weight loss. Some research shows that it may have very modest weight loss benefits. For instance, in one 2009 study, researchers had 144 obese adults drink a placebo or 1 to 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar (ACV) daily for 3 months. They found that people who downed 2 tablespoons lost nearly 4 pounds, while those who sipped on 1 tablespoon dropped 2.5 pounds. The placebo drinkers? They actually experienced a small weight gain.
Stress may contribute to abdominal fat, according to several studies, including a recent one at the University of California, San Francisco. "When you're stressed, hormones like cortisol stimulate your appetite, slow your metabolism down and encourage fat storage inside your abdomen," explains Shawn Talbott, Ph.D., director of the Nutrition Clinic at the University of Utah. So what's a frazzled girl to do? "Find an activity that reduces stress for you, whether it's listening to soothing music or taking yoga, and do it daily," advises Talbott.
